This Merdeka, vivo Malaysia is determined to enliven the spirit of patriotism – bringing the very first collaboration with multilingual Malaysian Singer, Shila Amzah to pull off a high-spirited theme song for its exclusive Merdeka Film – “KITA”, celebrating the diversity in Malaysia.
Shila Amzah is finally making her comeback after years, who is now bringing a dual-language movie theme song in prior of vivo’s upcoming National Day Blockbuster titled – “KITA”, where the music video is now available on vivo official Facebook page.
“This time, there are many new production challenges in terms of conception, shooting to recording. On this difficult period that is pandemic, the team took the time and effort to film the music video and proceeded to record the whole theme song with our amazing star singer, Shila Amzah. With her touch of class and melodious, dulcet vocal, it is no difficult task for her as she brought so much to the table. In no time, with everyone's enthusiastic efforts, this music video was finally born.” said Mr. Mike Xu, Chief Executive Officer of vivo Malaysia.
“In the hopes to celebrate the spirit of togetherness, we are fostering a unity mindset amongst everyone that is currently fighting the pandemic and given that the circumstances that we are facing now, we are not alone.” He added on.
Additionally, vivo Malaysia hopes to bring positivity and unity to the nation, reminding everyone that ones are not alone in this fight. vivo Malaysia hopes that through everyone's awakening and hard work, we can create a beautiful history by working together to defeat this pandemic.
Known as Asia’s sweetheart, Shila Amzah, born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, first rose to fame when her single “Patah Seribu” won multiple awards at the 19th Malaysian Music Awards. She then won millions of hearts in the Asian region after becoming the champion of Asian Wave, a Chinese reality singing talent show. The multilangual singer also emerged to secure a first runner-up title from the judge and second runner-up title from the audience in one of China’s most popular programme named “I am a Singer (Season 2)”, which commanded 500 Million viewers per week.
Having established her second record label and a global management company – Shilala(HK) Limited, she became the first and only Malay artist to have success in Chinese-speaking countries and Chinese record charts with her Sina Weibo account having more than 2.3 million followers. With the theme song has been released online, fans can expect to indulge in her beautiful, dulcet voice once the complete version of KITA’s theme song is released.
